The College of Economics & Management has a history that dates back to 1904. It was the first among Chinese agricultural colleges and universities to establish economics and management departments.
It has 147 faculty members, of which there are 119 full-time teachers (including 30 doctoral supervisors, 30 professors, 58 associate professors, and 31 lecturers). There are one post-doctoral research station, one first-level discipline doctoral program, four second-level discipline doctoral programs, three first-level discipline master's degree programs, three professional master's degree programs, as well as other research and training centers.
The Agricultural and Forestry Economics and Management is the distinct discipline of the college and the disciplines of Business Management and Applied Economics are also well-developed. The Agricultural and Forestry Economics and Management discipline has been twice selected as the national "Double First-Class" discipline, ranked Class A in the fourth round of discipline evaluation, and ranked first in Best Chinese Subjects Rankings in 2019.
The teachers of the college have recently been approved for 81 national research projects and over 270 provincial and ministerial level research projects, with a funding of nearly 107 million yuan. They have published more than 1,700 papers in high-level academic journals as the lead author or corresponding author, including more than 130 papers in authoritative top journals such as the American Journal of Agricultural Economics and published 84 academic monographs.
