The College of Horticulture & Forestry Sciences consists of seven departments including Fruit Tree, Vegetable, Garden, Landscape Architecture, Forestry, Tea Science and Facility and Intelligent Horticulture.
There are six undergraduate majors: Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Gardening, Forestry, Tea Science, and Facility Agriculture Science and Engineering. Horticulture, Gardening, and Landscape Architecture are the construction sites of the national first-class undergraduate majors. Forestry, Tea Science, and Facility Agriculture Science and Engineering are the construction sites of the provincial first-class undergraduate majors. In the third round of national subject evaluation, Horticulture ranked first in the country; in the fourth round of national subject evaluation, Horticulture was rated A+ and Landscape Architecture was rated B+.
It has 186 faculty members, including 159 full-time teachers (67 professors). Among them there are one academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, multiple recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and Yangtze River Scholars, etc.
It has three doctoral degree authorization points of first-level disciplines of Horticulture, Forestry, and Landscape Architecture, and has established two post-doctoral research stations for Horticulture and Landscape Architecture.
Its Horticulture discipline is a national “double first-class” discipline and Landscape Architecture and Forestry are State Forestry Administration key disciplines.
There are 18 teaching and research platforms including the National Key Laboratory for Germplasm Innovation & Utilization of Horticultural Crops, the National Science Popularization Education Base and the National Citrus Breeding Center.
