Ruslan Viktorovich, general manager of the Belarusian State Association for Livestock Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, led a delegation to visit Huazhong Agricultural University on July 4.

Zeng Hongxia, director of the university’s International Cooperation and Exchange Department, welcomed Ruslan and his delegation, highlighting the significance of his visit on expanding cooperation opportunities. Zeng spoke of the solid friendship between China and Belarus and the substantial cooperation achievements in the field of agricultural and livestock research. She also introduced the College of Animal Science & Technology and the College of Veterinary Medicine to the delegation.
Peng Guiqing, associate dean of the university’s College of Animal Science & Technology and the College of Veterinary Medicine, briefed the delegation on the overall situation of the college, saying it has made continuous efforts in international exchange and cooperation in recent years with world-renowned universities and research institutions. He expressed his hope to strengthen strategic cooperation with Belarus in areas of mutual strength.
Ruslan said it was an honor to communicate with top Chinese scholars in the field of livestock and veterinary science. He said that HZAU is a beautiful university with excellent research capabilities and that he hopes to enhance cooperation between the two sides through this visit.

An in-depth discussion was subsequently held on the livestock and veterinary industry. The two sides reached preliminary intent of cooperation on the application of industrial technology and the joint construction of research laboratories.
The delegation also visited the National Livestock Engineering Technology Research Center, the Collaborative Innovation Center for Healthy Pig Farming, and the National Pig Biobreeding Industry-Education Integration Platform.
