The 15th Anniversary Forum of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) and an agricultural company, was held in Guigang, Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from Aug 7 to 9.
The full board of directors of Yangxiang Co Ltd, and Yang Shiting, CEO of Guangzhou Yingzi Technology Co Ltd (Yingzi Technology), a tech firm focusing on pig farming, welcomed the HZAU delegation.
The "2024-2033 Farm-to-Table Intelligent Service University-Enterprise Joint Research Agreement" was signed by HZAU, Yangxiang and Yingzi Technology, which further advanced the deep integration of industry, academia, research and use among HZAU and the two enterprises.

Representatives from various colleges of HZAU also signed collaborative research and promotion agreements with the two companies.
Additionally, the leaders from the university and enterprises presented an award to Yangxiang's "Establishment and Application of a Genetic Pig Selection and Breeding Technology System" project, which has won the second prize of the 2023 State Technological Invention Award.
During the forum, Shi Liang, president of Yangxiang, reviewed the company's development and the series of achievements resulting from its 15-year cooperation with HZAU.
He emphasized the need to further solidify the cooperation to combine the university's talent and research resources and the company's industrial advantages to develop a digital and intelligent industry system to achieve the company's growth goals.
Exchanges were held among HZAU professors on technological progress in fields such as genetic pig breeding and health management, food processing and manufacturing, engineering technology and intelligent equipment and electronic information technology and artificial intelligence.
In his concluding speech, Gao Chi, secretary of the CPC HZAU Committee, acknowledged the successful cooperation between the university and Yangxiang, emphasizing that the partnership is entering a new phase with promising future outcomes.
Highlighting the past achievements, he said it was important to focus on digital transformation in the future to improve productivity, achieve industrial upgrading and promote the formation of new productive forces.
He also stressed the needs of deepening cooperation, fostering innovation and cultivating talents with innovation ability, and furthering interdisciplinary knowledge and digital intelligence.
Li Zhaohu, president of the university, also attended the forum.
A meeting of HZAU alumni working at Yangxiang and Yingzi Technology and teachers stationed at the two companies was held afterward.
During their time in Guigang, the three parties also engaged in sports and cultural exchange activities, such as basketball and volleyball games.
