The 12th Alumni Representative Conference of Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) was held in Shenzhen on Dec 14.
Gao Chi, secretary of the CPC HZAU Committee delivered a keynote address. In his speech, he spotlighted the university's emphasis on comprehensive developments of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labor education.

Prior to the keynote address, the conference hosted an alumni development forum in separate sessions.
Meanwhile, during the Engineering Innovation and Intelligent Manufacturing Association sub-forum, the inaugural board of directors of the association was elected.
Yang Shaobo, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC HZAU Committee and vice-president of the university, presented appointment letters to the representatives of the inaugural board of directors.

He highlighted that the association was established to meet the industry alumni's expectations for a platform fostering alumni engagement, cooperation and co-creation, and to support career development.
He expressed hope that the association would establish a strong team and effective mechanisms to meet the development needs of the manufacturing industry. At the forum on "Building a Green Food Smart Supply Chain — From Field to Table", Zhou Yongshun, a senior director of CP Group and a HZAU alumnus, delivered a keynote speech titled "Ensuring Food Safety from Farm to Table" based on CP Group's comprehensive industrial chain development model.
During the subsequent round table forum, HZAU alumni engaged in discussions on green food and food security, focusing on supply chains and innovative development.

During the "Pet Nutrition and Health Innovation Development" forum, Liu Xingbin, dean of Pet Health Research Institute at HZAU, provided a detailed overview of the institute's research progress.
Later that day, an investment promotion conference themed "Smart Wuhan, Enjoying the Future" was held, focusing on the sci-tech research and development and intelligent manufacturing industry of Wuhan's Hongshan district.
Guo Gangqi, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC HZAU Committee and vice-president of the university, delivered a speech, emphasizing the benefits of the interaction between universities and cities, and highlighting the symbiotic relationship that nurtures both urban and educational development.
He called for unified efforts from the university, alumni and government to support the development of Hongshan district.
The conference concluded on the evening of Dec 14 with a closing ceremony presided by Guo.
