From Dec 4 to 5, 11 students from Huazhong Agricultural University's College of Humanities & Social Sciences (HZAU) participated in the 4th Cross-Strait, Hong Kong and Macau Service-Learning Conference and also visited the Society for Community Organization in Hong Kong.
At the conference, HZAU scholars He Yufei and Zhang Yufang presented a report on "Exploration of the Virtual Service Learning System in Social Work and Its Teaching Effect: Taking the TPR System of M.Y.Union in a University in Chinese Mainland as an Example". They shared innovative and practical cases based on the university's long-term exploration and practice in the field of service learning.

The attending teachers and students listened to three thematic reports and participated in nine sub-forums. They learned about the latest global trends and practical cases of service learning through in-depth exchanges with educators from different professional backgrounds.
The HZAU students believed that this conference was a rare opportunity for learning and growth, which not only enhanced their communication and expressive abilities but also broadened their horizons and knowledge.
Organized by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the conference attracted over 180 participants, including experts, teachers, students, and practitioners from China, the United States and the Philippines. The theme of the conference was "Service Learning in the Era of Technological Progress: Diversified Development and Social Innovation". It explored the value and function of service learning in the age of artificial intelligence, and examined the innovation and development of service learning in educational practice from a multidisciplinary perspective.
During their visit in Hong Kong, the faculty and students also visited the Society for Community Organization, and attended the home visits of social workers, gaining insights into the operations of social work service organizations in Hong Kong, and were impressed by the dedication, professionalism and spirit of service of the social workers.
