The China Scholarship Council recently revealed that three projects at Huazhong Agricultural University have been approved for funding.
Over a three-year period, these projects will help 69 faculty and students study and participate in exchange activities at overseas partner institutions, with funding totaling approximately 14 million yuan ($1.91 million).
The first project, titled "carbon-neutral land ecosystem carbon sequestration and emission reduction for agricultural green development", is led by professor Cai Peng from the College of Resources & Environment. In collaboration with Lincoln University in New Zealand and Queensland University of Technology in Australia, the project aims to cultivate top innovative talent who possess international advanced concepts in soil health management and agricultural green development.
The second project, the "innovative talent training project on rural land use transformation in the context of rural vitalization", is headed by professor Ke Xinli from the College of Public Administration. Leveraging cooperation with the University of Western Australia, the project will conduct joint training for doctoral and master's students, dispatch teachers and researchers for international scientific research cooperation, and aim to cultivate high-quality talent for the sustainable use of rural land and the modernization of rural governance capabilities in China.
The third project, the "Sino-Japanese modern fisheries innovative talent international cooperation training project", is led by professor Gao Jian from the College of Fisheries. Through in-depth collaboration with Hokkaido University in Japan, the project will conduct joint training for doctoral students, dispatch visiting scholars for international scientific research cooperation, and cultivate high-level compound innovative talent for the development of China's fisheries.
The approved projects have a duration of three years, with the China Scholarship Council covering international travel expenses for project personnel and scholarships within the funding period.
