Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) held a peach-themed event on March 20, marking the beginning of the HZAU Peach Culture Festival.
The festival serves as a platform for interaction and communication among teachers, students, alumni, and various sectors of society through artistic creation, popular science exhibitions and more. By empowering with culture, it aims to further promote the high-quality integrated development of the peach industry.
A variety of engaging activities were held, such as on-site painting, bookmark crafting, feihualing (a give-and-take poem recitation game), and a concentrated display of HZAU's research accomplishments and practical applications in peach cultivation and study.

This year's Peach Culture Festival is divided into two phases and six main sections. During the peak blooming period in mid-March, activities include a garden plant photography and short video contest, peach-themed art creations, peach-themed writings, and a peach-themed science and industrial achievement promotion. In May, when the peaches ripen, events will include youth volunteer service exchanges and peach-picking.
Qin Renqiang, a teacher in the Department of Landscape Architecture, said that the Peach Culture Festival was launched to showcase the link between nature and the humanities. It provides an opportunity for participants to get close with nature and enjoy the intersection of humanities, arts, ecology, and technology, he said.
