The inaugural meeting of the agricultural products quality and nutrition engineering professional committee of the China Agricultural Engineering Society, along with the first China food science and technology conference, was held in Wuhan from March 28 to 30.

The event, with the theme "connecting research and production to promote the high-quality and healthy development of the food industry", was hosted by China Agricultural Engineering Society and Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU). It attracted over 1,000 scholars and industry representatives from universities, research institutes, and enterprises nationwide.
Leading experts engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics such as improving grain and oil quality, biosynthesis, and carbon reduction.
During the event, Yao Jianglin, vice president of HZAU, emphasized that the establishment of the professional committee offers a broader and more specialized platform for experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals deeply engaged in this field. This committee facilitates enhanced communication, collaboration, resource integration, industry cohesion, technological innovation, and commercialization of outcomes.
Meanwhile, the first China food science and technology conference commenced on the morning of March 29. Later, six major parallel forums were held. Additionally, over 5,000 food ingredient enterprises participated in a live exhibition and networking event, providing a direct channel for the commercialization of research achievements.
