Professor Wen Yonggang, professor and president's chair in College of Computing and Data Science at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, paid a visit to Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) on May 17.
Yan Jianbing, president of HZAU, welcomed Professor Wen, while also thanking him for participating in the 2025 World Digital Education Conference in Wuhan and giving a speech at the roundtable forum.
Yan pointed out that HZAU boasts significant advantages in agriculture and life sciences. The university is actively embracing the AI era through data-intelligent education and seeks to integrate technological innovation with talent development and industrial innovation as well as promote sustainable agricultural development. He expressed hope for a strong alliance between the two universities, using AI to empower agricultural technology and jointly contribute to solving global food security issues.

Professor Wen introduced Singapore's strategic initiatives in advancing AI-empowered education and technology, as well as typical practices of collaboration between NTU and enterprises. He invited President Yan to NTU for exchanges, stating his intention to facilitate increased communication between researchers from both universities and promote close cooperation.
During his visit to the university, Professor Wen also engaged in discussions with Li Dapeng, vice president of HZAU, on topics such as graduate student training and smart fisheries, and delivered a special lecture at the College of Informatics.
