Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) held its signature graduation parade to celebrate the departure of the class of 2025 on June 21. Titled "harmony in Diversity", the event featured 16 floats representing each college, transformed from modern agricultural machinery, which paraded across campus in a spirited send-off.
Despite the drizzle, students and families gathered in the Huiyuan community to cheer for the lineup of colorful floats. At 3 pm, Party Secretary Yao Jianglin and President Yan Jianbing joined student representatives to wave the school flag atop a yellow New Holland harvester, marking the start of the parade.
Students marched joyfully down the road, dancing and interacting with teachers and peers. Each float reflected its college's academic focus and the graduates' ambitions. The College of Engineering showcased planets and humanoid robots; the College of Plant Science & Technology displayed a future farm under artificial intelligence surveillance; the College of Fisheries highlighted ocean waves and stars, symbolizing adaptability and inspiration.

This year's parade also featured homegrown equipment designed by HZAU faculty, including seeders and harvesters. "May our graduates, like these machines, be resilient and collaborative," said Liao Qingxi, dean of the College of Engineering.
The celebration concluded with a live concert. Students performed original and farewell songs, culminating in a moving rendition of the graduation song.
"You are the pride of Shizi Mountain, and your alma mater will always stand behind you," Yao told graduates.
