The inaugural Food, Nutrition and Health Youth Editorial Board Forum was held from June 28 to 29 at Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU), bringing together young researchers and journal leaders to exchange ideas on the future of food science publishing and cross-disciplinary collaboration, while supporting the journal's goal of becoming a global academic leader in the field.
HZAU Vice-President Li Dapeng delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the university's long-standing commitment to knowledge dissemination. "Launching a journal is like nurturing new life – it takes collective effort to build a vibrant, meaningful academic community," he said.
Li called on young editors to anchor their work in frontier science, promote integration across academia and industry, and enhance international engagement. "I hope this journal becomes a world-class platform rooted in China and recognized globally."
Professor Chen Guoxun, editor-in-chief of Food, Nutrition and Health, highlighted the vital role of scientific journals in advancing national innovation and soft power. "Our young editorial members are key to the journal’s future, as they bring frontline research insights and strong academic networks," he noted.
