Nearly 8,000 graduates from Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) celebrated their commencement, each receiving a 127-centimeter-long commemorative silk scroll named Shishan jinxiu, symbolizing honor, tradition, and a promising journey ahead.
Behind this moment stood months of dedication from staff across departments, who turned the campus into a living classroom for one final lesson in responsibility and care.

Designing the jinxiu scroll was a painstaking process. Staff compared 37 color samples and tested 136 fabric options to match academic dress shades across disciplines. "When the 37th version finally matched, we all cheered – it felt like tailoring a piece of youth," said one committee member.
At the ceremony site, rows of 10,000 chairs were aligned. Every centimeter was measured to ensure order and visual harmony. "A tidy seating arrangement reflects more than logistics – it conveys our attitude and care," said Zhang Yu from the maintenance team.
Staff cleaned restrooms every 15 minutes, dyed fountains a symbolic purple hue, ensured safety, and provided medical support. Meanwhile, live-stream teams braved rain and technical hurdles to deliver the event to online viewers, while student reporters captured it all in real time.
Volunteers worked late into the night to sort and distribute jinxiu scrolls, while the dining team prepared nearly 8,000 personalized health graduation meals.
"It's in these small, unseen details that we felt the warmth of home," a graduate posted online. "Even the light in the fountain reminded me of our teachers' watchful eyes."
