A doctoral group from Huazhong Agricultural University's College of Food Science and Technology recently visited the operations of prominent food enterprises in Wuhan, including Zhouheiya International Holdings, Haitian Flavouring and Food, and Babi Food.
At Zhouheiya, the group followed the company's evolution into an industry benchmark, gaining insights into its commitment to quality through meticulous production processes. "The rigorous control over raw materials and production is truly impressive," noted team member Dong Jie, emphasizing the company's consumer-centric approach.
The visit to Haitian provided an overview of the company's robust development and brand strength. Its general manager emphasized the company's urgent need for diverse talent and expressed a desire for closer university-industry collaboration to facilitate technology transfer, resource sharing, and career opportunities for students.
At Babi Food, the students explored the entire baozi (Chinese steamed buns) production process. By witnessing the low-temperature dough fermentation and filling preservation techniques, they experienced firsthand the blend of modern food technology and the preservation of traditional pastry culture.
These experiential learning opportunities will undoubtedly provide theoretical support for the students' future endeavors and assist in charting their professional paths.
