From July 25 to Sept 10, Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) and Egypt's Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST) co-hosted a two-way exchange program focused on "The Belt and Road and Youth Exchange". Through academic seminars, cultural activities, and practical workshops, faculty and students from both universities gained a deeper understanding of each other's research, culture, and societal development, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration.
From July 25 to Aug 7, a team from HZAU's College of Plant Science & Technology visited various teaching and research units at MUST. The delegation also conducted on-site surveys at the Good Seed and the Sekem farms. They learned about Egypt's advanced drip irrigation techniques and unique crop cultivation methods at the Good Seed farm. In addition, the group experienced the rich history of ancient Egyptian civilization firsthand through visits to the Nile River and the Pyramids.
From Aug 31 to Sept 10, a return delegation of two professors and 11 undergraduates from MUST visited HZAU. They explored various HZAU colleges and key laboratories, and their itinerary included site visits to local hospitals and enterprises tailored to their academic backgrounds.
At the closing ceremony, Professor Hussein of MUST expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm reception, describing his trip to China as "incredibly warm and joyful". He stated his hope to expand the program in the future, moving beyond student exchange to include joint educational programs and faculty visits, deepening the cooperation between the two institutions.
