On the afternoon of Oct 27, Feng Nan, Director of the Cultural Development Office, hosted a special lecture on Chinese culture for participants in the "Training Program for the Capacity Building of 1,000 Pakistani Agricultural Graduates in China". The lecture aimed to use culture as a bridge to deepen people-to-people exchange and foster stronger friendship between the youth of China and Pakistan.
The presentation explored the core aesthetic and philosophical concepts of Chinese culture through four main dimensions: harmony between humanity and nature, harmony between individuals, harmony within the self, and harmony between China and the world.
Drawing on daily life and the campus environment, Feng introduced 16 key cultural symbols, including Chinese characters, the Spring Festival, the Great Wall, kung fu, and tea. She effectively highlighted the similarities and differences between Chinese and Pakistani culture and social life, resonating deeply with the young Pakistani attendees. Campus culture videos played during the session offered the students a tangible sense of the harmonious atmosphere at Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU).
Emphasizing the deep historical roots between the nations, Feng noted that both countries are home to prosperous agricultural industries and share values such as respect for nature, family, and neighbors. The shared sentiment evoked heartfelt applause.
The event concluded on a warm note as Feng presented a long scroll of calligraphy she had personally inscribed with the phrase, "Long Live China-Pakistan Friendship". The participants then gathered for a joint photo, reflecting the genuine sense of camaraderie felt throughout the event.
