Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) Vice President Qing Ping led a delegation to France and Morocco from Nov 22 to 28 to advance high-level joint talent cultivation and international scientific research partnerships.
In France, the delegation visited the Institut des Sciences des Plantes de Paris-Saclay, Universite Paris-Saclay. Vice President Qing Ping thanked the institution for its long-standing support of Sino-French cooperation, noting the strong alignment between both sides' research priorities. He proposed strengthening graduate student exchanges, short-term visits, joint training programs, and exchanges among young researchers. The goal is to use top-tier talent development to deepen collaboration and, in turn, leverage world-class research to cultivate exceptional personnel.
Deputy Director Abdelhafld Bendahmane pledged full support for expanded exchanges with HZAU. He expressed hope that the two sides would further promote data and resource sharing, explore establishing joint databases and technical platforms, and build a more stable cooperation framework in critical areas such as plant stress biology and crop nutrition and quality.
In Morocco, the delegation explored the local horticultural industry. They toured the agricultural business incubator, germplasm resource center, and faculty and student living facilities in Agadir. The visit concluded with an inspection of the Ouled Teima agricultural estate, a major citrus cultivation base, providing insights into Morocco's horticultural development.
