On Jan 18, the Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) Shenzhen Alumni Association held its 2025 Annual Meeting in Futian district, Shenzhen, bringing together graduates and university leaders to celebrate shared heritage and future innovation.
HZAU Vice-President Guo Gangqi addressed the gathering, reviewing the university's recent milestones and outlining strategic pathways for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) period. Praising the Shenzhen chapter for its tenacity, Guo encouraged alumni to continue upholding the university motto while serving as leaders of innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The event featured a dynamic entrepreneurial alumni sharing session, where six distinguished alumni from diverse sectors presented insights on emerging topics. Their discussions covered intelligent farming, the "AI + biomanufacturing" frontier, big health industries, and medical endoscopy technology, highlighting the cross-disciplinary expertise of the HZAU community.
During the visit, Guo also led a delegation to conduct field research at several prominent enterprises and alumni-founded institutions. These efforts focused on deepening school-enterprise cooperation, expanding employment opportunities, and accelerating the integration of research with industrial practice.
By strengthening ties with the Shenzhen network, HZAU aims to create a stronger ecosystem for talent cultivation and technological transformation in China's tech hub.
