Yang Shiting, chairwoman of Guangzhou Yingzi Technology, led a delegation to Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) on March 13 to strengthen partnership. HZAU leaders, including Party secretary Yao Jianglin and President Yan Jianbing, welcomed the visitors.
During the symposium, both parties reviewed their ongoing cooperation and discussed future plans to improve collaboration in platform development, talent training, joint research, and resource sharing.
Yang outlined a strategy centered on the growth of smart pig farming in China. The plan has four priorities: building a national-level R&D platform, setting industry benchmarks, training high-level talent, and strengthening global communication and outreach.
Yao supported the strategy, stating that HZAU will align its cooperation with national policies and industry needs, focusing on addressing technical challenges and improving collaboration methods to foster technological innovation. Utilizing the Hubei Hongshan Laboratory, the university plans to jointly establish an industry research institute with the company to better integrate innovation, industry, and financial resources.
President Yan highlighted HZAU's new Department of Artificial Intelligence, which aims to develop interdisciplinary talent to meet urgent industry needs. He suggested improving joint innovation mechanisms, adopting task-based research management, and attracting leading international experts to strengthen the link between innovation, industry, and talent development.
Prior to the discussions, the delegation visited key facilities, including the Hubei Hongshan Laboratory and a national rapeseed research center, and exchanged ideas with faculty and students.
