A delegation from the College of Chemistry at Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU), led by deputy Party secretary Chen Huawei, visited major chemical and pharmaceutical enterprises in Yichang, Hubei province, from March 24 to 27 to promote cooperation in talent training, scientific research and student employment.
During a symposium at Huayang Chemical Co Ltd in Yidu, both sides held in-depth discussions on industry–university–research integration, joint talent cultivation, the development of practical training platforms and technology transfer. The company introduced its research and development achievements, noting a growing demand for high-caliber professionals with strong academic foundations, practical skills and innovative capabilities.
Chen outlined the college's strengths in disciplinary development, faculty resources and talent training. He said the visit aimed to strengthen ties with alumni, better align academic programs with industry needs and build collaborative platforms to expand internship and employment opportunities for students.
The delegation also visited production facilities and industrial parks at leading enterprises, including the Hubei Xingfa Chemicals Group. They learned about safety management, research investment and career development pathways, gaining deeper insight into industry trends.
HZAU alumni working at these companies shared their professional experiences and encouraged students to develop their skills and plan their careers as early as possible.
