Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) introduced its 2026 student development support projects on April 18. The initiative includes four plans — Guiding, Competing, Assisting, and Voyaging — aimed at enhancing students' academic growth, career development, and global competence, with a focus on AI empowerment.
AI-assisted learning tools were a highlight of the event. The integrated platform offers round-the-clock smart Q&A, automatic knowledge graph generation, and personalized study support, helping students pinpoint and fill learning gaps. Large language model (LLM) tools were also introduced to offer personalized problem-solving advice and study plans, broadening learning opportunities.
Beyond digital innovation, the university enhanced in-person support. The course tutoring program combines AI-driven academic assessments with faculty guidance, while peer mentoring targets subjects like calculus and Python programming.
The career planning project aids students with AI-powered resume optimization, mock interviews, and data-driven career assessments. It provides comprehensive assistance from self-discovery to job searching.
The four plans cover the entire student lifecycle, from freshman adaptation to skills development, innovation training, and international engagement. Additional events were also included, such as language workshops, global agricultural practice programs, and campus life activities.
This year's projects focus on deep integrating AI with education, according to Chu Zhaojie from the Student Affairs Office. "Our goal is to encourage students to adopt AI tools to improve their learning efficiency and develop their essential skills for the future."
