A delegation from Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) visited Guangzhou from May 26 to 27 to improve university-enterprise cooperation and look into potential training programs for agricultural engineers.
Led by Cheng Yunjiang, dean of HZAU's Graduate School, and Qin Changping, Party secretary of the College of Fisheries, the delegation visited the headquarters of Haoyun Technologies and Haid Group. Founded in 1998, Haid Group has become a leading agricultural technology company with more than 600 branches and subsidiaries worldwide and over 40,000 employees.
Haoyun Technologies general manager Gao Jiefen introduced the company's work in Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, control platforms, and campus safety systems. The two sides discussed how digital technologies and smart management solutions could be used in smart agriculture, campus management, and laboratory safety.
The delegation later visited Haid Group, touring its research institutes and training facilities. The two sides discussed training programs, including joint talent development, and the potential establishment of a program to train outstanding agricultural engineers.
Xue Hua, chairman of Haid Group and an HZAU alumnus, met with the delegation and shared insights on their cooperation. Both sides expressed a desire to combine HZAU's academic strengths with Haid Group's industry resources to create a project-based master's training model that better connects classroom learning with industry practice and employment.
The visit further improved HZAU's ties with alumni enterprises and started new opportunities for cooperation in fisheries, agricultural engineering, and talent training.
