A delegation from the Complutense University of Madrid visited Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) on June 26, as the two universities moved to deepen cooperation in veterinary education, research and talent training.
The delegation included Miguel Ángel Sastre Castillo, vice-rector for quality, María Concepción García Gómez, vice-rector for employability and entrepreneurship, and Juan Carlos Izquierdo Villaverde, a representative for international promotion.
HZAU Vice-President Qing Ping met with the guests, joined by representatives from the university's international cooperation office, the College of Animal Science & Technology of Veterinary Medicine, and the College of Biomedicine & Health.
Qing said the two universities share strong academic alignment, especially in veterinary medicine and life sciences. He said HZAU hoped to use the visit as a new starting point to expand cooperation in talent training, scientific research and joint platforms.
Sastre Castillo thanked HZAU for its warm reception and said the Complutense University of Madrid values cooperation with China, especially in veterinary medicine. García Gómez said HZAU's teaching platforms and student quality had left a strong impression, and welcomed HZAU teachers and students to visit Madrid.
Before the meeting, the delegation visited HZAU's teaching animal hospital, Hubei Hongshan Laboratory and teaching and research platforms.
