Yang Huan, a professor at the College of Public Administration of Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU), was named an Outstanding Communist Party Member in 2026. During her 10 years of teaching, she has focused on agricultural and rural public policies and green agricultural development. She has led several national research projects, contributed to compiling textbooks and guided students in achieving academic progress.
In her research, Yang has faced challenges in field investigations, project development and academic competition. When conducting large-scale field research, she insisted on maintaining high standards rather than simplifying the process. She also actively learned new technologies and developed an AI-assisted tool for her Social Research Methods course to help students practice semi-structured interviews.
For students, Yang is not only a professor but also a trusted mentor. She regularly communicates with students, listens to their concerns and provides advice based on their individual situations. When students face pressure in terms of deciding their further studies or career choices, she helps them analyze different options and make their own decisions.
Yang said her strong sense of resilience has supported her teaching and research career. She will continue exploring new approaches and contributing to research innovation and talent development.
