A delegation from Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU), led by Li Xiangdong, deputy secretary of HZAU, visited Spain from July 6 to 10, holding talks with universities and research institutions on joint talent training, scientific research, and academic exchanges, and signing cooperation agreements with partner institutions.
The delegation visited Universidad Europea de Madrid, the Spanish National Institute for Agricultural and Food Research and Technology (INIA), and Complutense University of Madrid, exploring cooperation in veterinary medicine, animal science, and international cooperation.
At Universidad Europea de Madrid and Complutense University of Madrid, HZAU representatives exchanged views with university leaders on veterinary education, clinical training, animal welfare, and joint talent cultivation. The two sides also signed cooperation agreements to support future collaboration in research and student exchanges.
During the visit to INIA, the delegation discussed joint research and academic exchanges with researchers and learned about the institute's progress in areas such as fish immunity, animal disease prevention and control, and biotechnology.
The delegation also visited China's Embassy in Spain, where diplomat Qu Xun encouraged greater cooperation between Chinese and Spanish universities and research institutions, particularly in agriculture and education.
