To deepen industry-education integration, a delegation from Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) visited Zhangye, Gansu province, from July 30 to 31.
Benefiting from abundant sunshine and fertile soil, Zhangye serves as a vital national seed production hub. This makes it a good match for HZAU's agricultural disciplines.
Led by Professor Li Lin, the team signed agreements and unveiled smart breeding and seed production internship bases respectively with Hexi University, the Zhangye Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Yuyu Seed Industry Co Ltd.
During the visit, the institutions held discussions on talent cultivation, joint research, and agricultural technology transfer.
Working with Hexi University, HZAU will integrate educational resources to train composite agricultural professionals for northwest China. The collaboration with the local agricultural academy focuses on water-saving agriculture, germplasm improvement, and translating research into practical applications. Meanwhile, the enterprise partnership with Yuyu Seed Industry provides students with professional training and career channels in crop breeding and seed industrialization.
These new bases mark a significant step forward in HZAU's commitment to practical education and rural vitalization, aiming to empower regional agricultural modernization.
