Fifty-two students and faculty from the College of Informatics at Huazhong Agricultural University completed an immersive six-day artificial intelligence (AI) study tour at the University of Macau (UM) from Aug 14 to 19.
The program featured three high-level lectures delivered by distinguished UM professors spanning AI and big data, fintech, and cognitive science. Professor Shen Hongchuan explored blockchain and financial technology applications, Dr Xiong Xingliang bridged cognitive neuroscience with AI, and Professor Wu Xiaowei examined data-driven technological advancements, providing deep theoretical and practical insights.
Beyond lectures, guided campus tours offered participants a window into UM’s rich history at the university exhibition hall and highlighted its vibrant academic atmosphere centered around the modern library.
The delegation was divided into eight groups to present their collaborative takeaways. UM faculty praised their analytical depth and presentation logic, awarded recommendation letters to top-performing teams, and formally distributed graduation certificates.
Reflecting on the experience, HZAU student Li Yuxuan noted how the interdisciplinary curriculum broadened his understanding of cross-sector trends. Wang Yulong, vice-dean of the College of Informatics, commended the fruitful exchange, encouraging participants to translate their newly acquired perspectives into future academic breakthroughs and innovative research endeavors.
