Led by Vice-Chancellor Damian Lodge, a delegation from New Zealand's Lincoln University recently visited the Xiangyang campus of Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) for comprehensive academic and institutional exchanges. The delegation included key faculty leaders and administrative directors.
Accompanied by university officials, the delegation toured the administrative building, interdisciplinary research centers, teaching laboratories, and the food park in Xiangyang National Agricultural High-Tech Industry Demonstration Zone. They examined advanced facilities, including smart feed production lines and deep-processing food plants, praising the campus's modern infrastructure and operational layout.
At a meeting with university, government and industry representatives, HZAU Vice-President Qing Ping said more than 700 students have been enrolled in joint programs between the two universities. He also highlighted opportunities for further cooperation in food processing and agronomy.
Lodge commended the partnership's achievements over the past two years, emphasizing the strong institutional alignment in agricultural sciences, environmental management, and food technology.
Local government representatives outlined future collaborative goals focusing on joint laboratories, student training bases, and industrial integration. Academic representatives from various colleges also shared insights into wheat breeding and food science, laying a solid foundation for advancing global agricultural sustainability and regional innovation together.
