Huazhong Agricultural University recently hosted a specialized artificial intelligence (AI) literacy training program from Sept 15 to 16, with over 110 faculty members participating. Jointly organized by the Faculty Development Center and the College of Informatics, the initiative aims to integrate AI into teaching, research, and academic workflows.
The workshop featured two focused sessions. On Sept 15, expert Zheng Yuanxia explored research scenarios, demonstrating how tools like Work Buddy streamline literature reviews, scientific illustration, and human-machine collaborative writing while emphasizing strict adherence to academic ethics.
On Sept 16, instructor Sun Ao addressed curriculum innovation before class, during class, and after class, highlighting AI-driven teaching design and data-backed student evaluations.
Participating educators shared feedback, noting that the interactive sessions provided practical tools and inspired new approaches for daily instruction and scientific inquiry.
Building on a broader institutional strategy that has launched over 80 digital training sessions since January 2025, the university plans to expand upcoming workshops into experimental teaching and smart administration. These efforts are aimed at strengthening faculty members' digital skills and their ability to use technology effectively in teaching.
