From Sept 21 to 24, a delegation from the College of Horticulture and Forestry Sciences of Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) visited Thailand to advance academic and scientific collaboration. The delegation toured Chiang Mai University (CMU) and Kasetsart University, forming multiple partnerships.
On Sept 21, the delegation arrived at CMU’s Faculty of Agriculture, where its Dean Daruni Naphrom delivered a welcoming speech. During the academic seminar, both sides presented their research highlights and exchanged views on joint projects, student exchanges, and the establishment of the Thailand branch of the international horticultural center. The following day, the delegation inspected advanced research facilities, including the Agri CMU farm, greenhouses, and the Science and Technology Park.
On Sept 23, the delegation visited Kasetsart University. Dean Saowanuch Tawornpruek hosted the opening ceremony, which was centered on sustainable agricultural sciences. Several professors introduced industrial profiles and germplasm resources related to citrus, tea, vegetables, and persimmons, exploring cooperation in germplasm innovation and smart horticulture. Both institutions agreed to cooperate on student exchanges, research, and construction of the Thailand branch center.
This successful visit expanded cooperation in plant sciences, germplasm utilization, and soil health, establishing an effective platform for joint research and global talent cultivation.
