Research progress on the cloning of drought-resistant genes in maize

Qin Feng is a professor at China Agricultural University. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Science from Huazhong Agricultural University in 1998 and completed his Ph.D. in Science at Tsinghua University in 2004. From 2004 to 2010, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences. He worked at the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2010 to 2016 and joined the College of Biology at China Agricultural University in 2017.
In 2014, he received the "DuPont Young Professor Award", followed by the first China Young Science and Technology Award of the Crop Science Society of China in 2015. In 2017, he was awarded the Outstanding Youth Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and in 2018, he received the "Wei Zhiming Award for Innovation by Young Talents". In 2019, he was selected for the "National Special Support Program" for leading talents in scientific and technological innovation.
Qin Feng's primary research focuses on the genetic analysis and gene cloning of drought resistance in maize. His relevant achievements have been published as corresponding author in international journals such as Nature Genetics, Nature Communications, Molecular Plant, Genome Biology, and Plant Cell. Currently, he serves as an editorial board member for journals such as Plant Journal, Plant Molecular Biology, Molecular Breeding, and Bulletin of Botany.
