The contest comprised three sessions with six items in total, including theory competition, knowledge competition and practical operation competition that aimed at evaluating the participants' proficiency in surgical techniques, blood smear preparation procedures, and the art of surgical hand-knotting. Guided by mentors Chen, Han, and Liu, and benefiting from the wisdom of Professor Hu Changmin and Associate Professor Xu Ming, our team dedicated four months to the competition preparation. Thankfully, they enriched their theoretical knowledge and improved their practical operation ability through daily training and collective discussions among faculty members and students.
The "Eagle Cup" SAVSC was organized to support the implementation of The State Council's Implementation Opinions on Deepening the Reform of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education in Colleges and Universities and the spirit of the Ministry of Education's Excellent Agriculture and Forestry Talent Education and Training Program. It also served as a crucial platform to showcase the ability of students majored in veterinary medicine, promote faculty-to-faculty exchanges, and to enhance the training quality of veterinary colleges. The competition witnessed extensive participation and reached the highest level among veterinary higher education events. Ultimately, 12 National Grand Prize, 12 Veterinary Rising Star Awards and 12 Best Organizational Institutions Awards were bestowed upon deserving recipients.
