A group of six student volunteers from Huazhong Agricultural University arrived in Xiaoyan town, Nanzhang county, on July 16 to provide a knowledge-rich summer experience for local children. Their mission was to help the students learn and have fun during their summer break.
The volunteers introduced a variety of engaging courses. In a history class, they focused on the four great ancient civilizations, bringing history to life through storytelling and sparking the children's interest in traditional culture. In an AI course, the volunteers created a fun scenario called "Medical Diagnosis: What's Your Ailment?" to encourage students to explore the practical applications of artificial intelligence. Their interactive approach ignited the children's curiosity and passion for technology.
During music lessons, the students learned the basics of chorus singing, including reading numbered musical notation, practicing breathing techniques, and keeping rhythm. The volunteers guided them into the world of choral art, helping to develop their musical sense and teamwork skills.
By offering this diverse range of lessons, the HZAU volunteers enriched the summer for the children of Xiaoyan town. Their dedication helped the students broaden their horizons and embrace knowledge, leaving a memorable summer learning experience that will surely last a lifetime.
