Since Sept 3, the Student Development Center at Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) has hosted two major events to help new students navigate their academic journey. The summer study abroad exhibition and the meeting for student innovation and entrepreneurship projects provided freshmen with a comprehensive look at the university's resources and opportunities.
The summer study abroad exhibition showcased HZAU's 40 planned student exchange programs for the current academic year. For the first time, the results of 28 completed summer programs were presented through photos and texts, vividly illustrating the learning and personal growth of HZAU students while abroad.
Meanwhile, the meeting for student innovation and entrepreneurship projects highlighted three major projects: a digital breeding platform for multiple species, an exclusive enzyme technology that turns waste shrimp and crab shells into valuable plant nutrients, and a portable rapid test for animal disease screening.
Team members from each project detailed their technical innovations, practical applications, and competition experiences to inquiring freshmen, inspiring the next generation of innovators.
These two events introduced new students to the rich dimensions and potential of university life beyond the classroom.
The Student Development Center plans to continue this momentum with upcoming events, including a training camp for aspiring international organization professionals and resource-sharing sessions to help every student explore personalized growth paths.
