On March 16, a group of more than 20 faculty members and students from the College of Informatics at Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU), led by Dean Li Guoliang, visited Alibaba's Wuhan office to discuss potential collaboration in artificial intelligence.
Representatives from both sides discussed topics including AI-driven talent training, research collaboration and support for student innovation and entrepreneurship.
Alibaba introduced its business strategy for the technology and e-commerce sectors, with a focus on continued investment in AI. The company highlighted its technological ecosystem, including the Tongyi large language model, Alibaba Cloud, and its self-developed chips. It also outlined its support for universities through computing resources, training programs and established cooperation models.
Li explained HZAU's strengths in agriculture and biology and introduced its efforts to advance educational reforms, improve students' digital skills, and foster interdisciplinary innovation, especially amid rapid AI development.
Both sides agreed to establish a long-term partnership. Alibaba will support student internships, participate in AI course development, and provide technical and resource assistance for joint instruction. They will also explore targeted collaboration models in sectors such as agriculture and biology.
A student participant said that the event offered valuable insights into human-AI collaboration and the practical application of digital technologies.
